This is the job:


We have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Hire Claims Handler where we'll look to you to deal efficiently and effectively with credit hire claims submitted to us.


With each new claim, you'll carry out investigations into liability and indemnity, collecting evidence of the incident to help you decide the best course of action.

Where a settlement is owed, you'll pick up with a range of external providers, including credit hire organisations, third party insurers and solicitors to negotiate the settlement.


You'll have your own portfolio of claims to look after, with the aim of settling each case promptly and avoiding the need for litigation where possible.


What will I be doing?:

You'll already know about insurance, liability, and indemnity, and may have worked in a similar credit hire role previously. As a confident communicator, you'll be able to negotiate with third party organisations.

  • Managing a portfolio of claims where credit hire has been presented against us
  • Undertake initial investigations into liability and indemnity, fully investigating all available evidence
  • Monitoring ongoing hire claims and intervening where possible to reduce spend
  • Liaising with credit hire organisations, third party insurers, customers, and solicitors to negotiate settlement of claims being presented against us
  • Updating financials so they reflect an accurate position of our risk

What do I need?:


  • Working knowledge of defending credit hire claims
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills
  • The ability to prioritise workload by recognising the importance of each task whilst adhering to deadlines and therefore
  • Ability to take on increased ownership and responsibility when necessary
  • PC literate with good administrative skills
