Our client is a leading investment firm specialising in the acquisition of middle market companies.

With offices in the US and Europe they have a strong transaction record and are now looking for an Investment Associate to join their team in London.

Theyare focused on making investments in both special situations and quality long-term capital investment opportunities across multiple sectors.


The role:


As an Associate you will work directly with senior investment professionals to develop, evaluate, and execute new investment opportunities as well as help monitor existing investments.

The position is very dynamic and exposes Associates to investing acrossa broad spectrum of industries.

You will be involved in all aspects of the investment process including performing qualitative and quantitative due diligence on companies and industries, building financial models, working with management teams, writing investment memorandums, participatingin legal negotiations and portfolio management.

In addition, you will also participate in business development activities helping to identify and source new acquisition opportunities.


Responsibilities:

Drive initial stages of business development working with investment banks, public companies, private companies, and other industry advisors to source new platform and add-on acquisitions
Prepare and run financial models for: valuations (LBOs, DCFs, comparable acquisitions, comparable companies) and merger and acquisitions (combined financial statements, dilution analysis, synergy analysis)
Perform commercial diligence to understand a target company's business, management team, addressable markets, competitive advantages, differentiated product lines and the competitive issues surrounding the particular segment in which the company operates
Develop written and oral presentations summarizing detailed business and financial information and making specific investment recommendations
Analyze and negotiate deal economics and aid in deal structuring and lending processes
Drive post-acquisition value creation initiatives within portfolio companies
Support senior investment professionals on ad hoc projects and requests
Minimum of two years of experience in investment banking, M&A or corporate finance, preferably at a bulge bracket firm.
Proven education track record, with a focus in quantitative coursework
Solid organisational skills, ability to multitask and meet deadlines while prioritising workflow.
Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
Desire to learn more about private equity
