Prospectus is pleased to partner with a prestigious organisation to recruit for a Policy Advisor (Pandemic preparedness).

This institution is dedicated to recognising, promoting, and supporting excellence in science and using it to make a better life for everyone.

Please note this is a full-time position on a 12-month contract. (Hybrid)

The institution is looking for a Policy Advisor to help with a significant project examining how non-drug interventions (NPIs) can be used to handle future pandemics.

During the COVID-19 crisis, the institution provided independent scientific advice and evidence to support decision-making.

As the pandemic situation improved, the focus shifted to understanding how effective measures like staying at home, wearing masks, and testing and tracing were in controlling the spread of the virus.

This involved analysing numerous academic papers, leading to the publication of a policy report and a special journal issue.

The Policy Advisor will oversee project delivery and work to improve quality and outcomes by working closely with relevant team members, senior staff, Fellows, and committees.

Additionally, they will collaborate with scientific researchers to shape projects and write reports, translating complex scientific findings into clear recommendations for wider audiences.

Moreover, the role involves keeping an eye on policy changes concerning Covid-19 and pandemic responses both in the UK and internationally.
