Working as a Medical Recruitment Co-Ordinator, you will lead on Medical Recruitment Consultant vacancies for the directorates and be the main contact for any recruitment issues, queries or needs.

The Medical Workforce Team is part of the Trust's HR Support Services within the Workforce Department.

The Team provide specialist Medical and Dental recruitment advice, campaign and selection management in order to support a flexible and cost effective workforce.

Commercially competitive and focusing upon service level delivery the team is a centre of excellence for best practice recruitment.


To act as first point of contact for Consultant recruitment enquires for managers, staff and applicants giving initial advice and support on recruitment processes and specific information regarding campaigns within the team remit, referring to a Medical Workforce Team Leader where necessary.


Responsible for effectively co-ordinating the Trust's Consultant recruitment campaign activities such as arranging Appointment Advisory Committee's (AAC) panels, ensuring on-time delivery of longlisting, shortlisting, interview activities and effective communication throughout with applicants and hiring managers, in line with the Trusts KPI's under the direction of the Medical Workforce Team Leader.


Provide successful implementation of recruitment campaigns for all Consultant Grade Staff, including the set up and facilitation of the Appointment Advisory Committees (AAC's).


To coordinate campaign activities for Locum and Substantive Consultants whilst providing effective communication to the Clinical Group/hiring manager and applicants, ensuring interviews follow pre-set plans adjusting arrangements as appropriate.

Follow up regarding un-completed activities to ensure on time delivery of campaign SLA's.

Attend and facilitate all Appointment Advisory Committee's (AAC's) for the Clinical Group.

Ensure the on-time provision of interview packs and sufficient materials to successfully run the Appointment Advisory Committee's (AAC's).


Act as the administrative lead and providing full support to the Recruiting managers, AAC panel members and Chair, to ensure the smooth running of AAC's associated recruitment events.

Liaising with panel members, Royal College's, Medical Directors Office, room bookings and associated duties as required.


Ensure that all substantive Consultant Job Descriptions have the required Royal College approval where needed, and escalate to the Medical Workforce Operations Manager where appropriate.


To ensure that all interview notes and assessment materials are completed and returned following events and that details are appropriately recorded.

Initiate and ensure that all pre-employment checks are carried out to Trust standards specifically (e.g. Right to Work, Identity verification, DBS/ISA registration, statutory registration, Occupational Health, references and all other pre-employment checks for both permanent and bank staff), using TRAC to facilitate this.

Process salary calculations for seniority on payscales where required.

Ensure information from shared systems is interpreted & recorded accurately.


Provide information, advice and coaching for hiring managers regarding the correct use of the recruitment system and their activities regarding their recruitment campaign.


Check for on-time completion of activities following up outstanding activities and completion of paperwork keeping managers informed at all times - escalating when appropriate.

Where appropriate, provide recruitment advice and referring to the Medical Workforce Team Leader or Operations Manager. Assist with all aspects of Recruitment and Selection as required to meet operational workflows across the department.

Assist in general recruitment as required to support the achievement of recruitment KPI's and objectives.
