Metalis are currently supporting a leading manufacturer of aerospace components. The company supply to the civil and MOD sectors and have a diverse workforce of skilled engineers.

Role Outlined:

As a Production Manager you will hold responsibility for the Manufacturing Divisions and oversee the Welding Cells, Sheet Metal Division, Machine Shop and Quality Department.

Your primary objective is to meet the requirements of the business on time and in full, based on the most efficient and effective way possible whilst ensuring that all components and finished products are produced to the highest quality levels, in line withestablished safe working procedures.

You will be working alongside the Operations Manager, Company Directors and Head of HR.

We are ideally looking to recruit someone who can contribute to cell performance, whilst operating within the constraints of strict quality control procedures, safetyregulations, product specific requirements and business initiatives such as 5 S.

Daily Responsibilities:

Responsibility for +80 skilled workers across a variety of manufacturing cells (welding, sheet metal, CNC Machining and more)
Ensuring that production KPI's are met and reporting any deviations from targets set, with root causes and appropriate corrective actions
Coaching, mentoring, and identifying training requirements for personnel across all areas of the factory and shop floor
Continuous improvement activities aimed at reducing costs, improving processes and efficiencies
Ensuring the facilitation of an agile and flexible workforce providing training and support where required
Ensuring NPD work is managed effectively within operations to meet development milestones for the business
Strategic planning; cost management & reduction; product development and production engineering; Supplier liaison, Customer & Quality Focused.
Management and reporting of manufacturing spend and budgets

Person Specification:

Have an open and enthusiastic management style
Demonstrable skills encompassing team building; staff development & training; project management & implementation
Able to motivate and communicate concisely at all levels, ensuring team success.
Methodical approach and task orientated achiever with good planning, control and achievement skills.
AS9100 and ISO14001 familiarity would be beneficial
Good working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement and Lean 5S techniques including Kaizen
