The Role

Tool Hire Assistant
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Jewson's team based in Cheadle Hulme. This role is a full time, permanent position.


Working hours as follows:
Monday - Friday 7.30am , plus every alternate Saturday pm


Key Requirements:


  • Full Clean Driving Licence, be comfortable and able to drive 3.5 tonne vehicle
  • Previous experience in Tool Hire but not essential
  • Mechanical background, you will be servicing and maintaining all tool hire equipment


As this role has a strong focus within our Tool Hire part of the business, we are looking for someone that loves to build relationships by helping our customers find the right tools they need and is able to proactively generate sales both face to face andover the phone.


What will I be doing?


A Tool Hire Assistant is an essential role within the branch network, you will build relationships with Customers and understand their wider requirements in order to maximise sales growth.

You will be in regular contact with our Customers and therefore youplay a huge part in delivering a fantastic customer experience.

In order to support our customers and deliver a great service you will;

  • Get to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions in line with our Jewson Values
  • Develop great relationships with new and existing Customers (both face to face and over the phone), understanding their needs and providing proactive advice and solutions so that you can deliver the best experience possible
  • Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of our tool hire equipment in the workshop
  • Use our inhouse systems to process customer orders, organise tool hire delivery and collection, keeping customers updated throughout their journey
  • Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work
  • Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement
