Person specification:
As an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner, the post holder will work collaboratively to provide financial challenge and support across the Agency, you will manage complex budgets and contribute to future spending review plans.
Delivery of results through others and effective negotiation at senior levels will be key.
You will develop and maintain business partnerships and relationships and influence others where there may be divergent and conflicting views.
This role requires significant leadership, management, representational and influencing skills.
You will engage the wider finance function to access centres of excellence to provide a full service to budget holders, influencing and engaging others across finance to maintain and enhance financial control.
Finally, the G7 Senior Finance Business Partner will coach and mentor junior members of the team and the wider profession to help build professional capability.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Leading a team of finance professionals to deliver the Agency's financial objectives.
- Supporting the Assistant Director of Finance to embed finance future ways of working within the team and the Agency.
- Lead the delivery of timely and robust financial information to influence business decision making across the Agency.
- Budget
- Work with budget holders to develop robust budget plans and monitor those plans.
- Ensure regular financial reviews are conducted with delegated budget holders to better understand programmes, plans and financial performance.
- Support the Agency's projects and programmes by providing financial advice and scrutiny, for example approvals, submissions, reviews and performance reporting.
- Oversee finance business partner scrutiny of business cases.
- Spend Control
- Influence the affordability and prioritisation of business plans and seek to maintain spend within the relevant financial boundaries and delegations.
- Risks & Issues
- Identify and monitor budget risks and opportunities. Develop mitigating actions and work with the business to monitor.

- Provide support, guidance and coaching for budget holders. Show commitment to personal development. Promote effective individual and team performance.
