RSR Housing are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Tameside for Homeless Prevention Officer's.

Your primary focus will be to prevent households from becoming homeless through using a wide range of tools available to you.

These are full time, temporary roles for 12 months, and offers a pay rate of £16.06 p/h

(Hybrid working available - 3 days on site/2 days WFH)

Main Duties:

Work proactively to determine the duties owed to applicants and prevent homelessness through timely and appropriate actions under the current homeless legislation including developing and managing a Personal Housing Plans
Provide an efficient and effective frontline assessment and prevention service, keeping the service safe by accurately assessing housing need and homelessness in line with housing legislation in front line triage and duty assessments, telephone assessments and interviews
Work with external partner agencies including Registered Providers, Private Rented and Voluntary Sector to promote the prevention of homelessness agenda.

Essential Requirements:

Experience of working with vulnerable and homeless people
Understanding of the issues faced by homeless people and adults at risk, and of the wide range of services in place to address these issues.
Experience of using Locata would be ideal but not necessary although good IT skills are required.
The ability to produce good quality PHPs and letters as per the legislation is vital.
Must have good knowledge of homelessness legislation and evidence of actioning it.
