Birkbeck University is looking for a Research Assistant within the Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development.

This esteemed centre is at the forefront of research in brain and psychological development, making it an ideal place for individuals passionate about neurodevelopmental conditions.


This is an exciting opportunity to carry out basic research and contribute to a number of studies investigating early biomarkers in infants, children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and, or, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).


Duration:

The position is offered full-time (35 hours a week) for 12 months at £37,143 rising to £42,365, per annum.


As Research Assistant you will be required:

  • To schedule families' visits to the CBCD and also administer a testing battery with the child and parent(s)
  • Manage data processing, coding and management, and liaise with other sites in terms of data collation
  • To undertake and deliver on a set of predetermined tasks within the existing research project
  • To conduct literature and database searches, and collaborate with a postdoctoral researcher and the wider research team
  • To write up the results of own research, and contribute to the production of other research reports and publications
  • To have a BSc in psychology or related field and experience of conducting developmental experimental psychology studies, and experience of working with children with ASD/ADHD.

Remuneration
£37,143 rising to £42,365, per annum, Grade 6 on the College's London Pay Scale. The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
