My client in
Essex is looking for an experienced
Band 6 Microbiology Biomedical Scientist for a locum contract.
The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services.

They employ 3,500 staff and serve a local population of around 350,000 people living in west Essex and east Hertfordshire, centred onthe M11 corridor and the towns of Harlow, Bishops Stortford and Epping.

Their extended catchment area incorporates a population of up to 500,000 and includes the areas of Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire.

Job Role:

Monday
Friday
37.5 h/week
The work of the service brings staff into constant contact with human body fluids, tissues and hazardous chemicals. This may include blood, pus, urine, faeces, and respiratory secretions

Qualifications and Experience required:
-
HCPC registered as a BMS:

Processes specialist investigations in department
Provides specialist advice to clinicians as to appropriateness of tests and timescales
Provides specialist service e.g. training, problem solving for specialist requirement
Work independently and lead on specialist area as directed by Lead BMS
Acts as mentor for more junior scientific and support staff
To work flexibly in reflection of service needs this may include an extended working day.
Supervises and/or trains less experienced staff in own area of work
