The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in UK's Building Services sector.

Alternative Heat design, develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative, and sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.


We specialise in the design, supply, and installation of a wide range of prefabricated energy solutions, typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Europe.

We also offer turnkey design, build, and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large-scale district heating solutions and have experience with successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages to a wide range of public bodies throughout UK & Europe.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to integrate a
Junior Quality Inspector to support our growing teams.


Role:


As a Junior Quality Inspector, you will assist in the production process to guarantee that all our products meet quality expectations and escalate any issues that are raised to the Quality Control Manager, performing stage inspections as well as factory acceptance testing.

You will shadow and assist a quality inspector to help ensure that all quality inspection stages are recorded on our electronic quality system to ensure full traceability of all production items through the prefabrication process.


This role will require regular travel between head office and our sites in Scarva and Gilford.

Key Responsibilities:


Core Responsibilities of the Role:


  • Help ensure production units match all approved drawings and specifications.
  • Assist with monitoring operations to ensure that they meet production standards.
  • Assist with the Stage Inspections & reporting for all products being produced.
  • Help ensure all quality checks are completed and recorded within the quality management system.
  • Accept or reject finished items.
  • Report inspection and test data.
  • Report and Record Non-Conformances.
  • Assist with continuous improvement activities.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by management.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:


Essential Criteria:


  • 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above or equivalent, these must include Mathematics and English Language
  • A minimum of 6 months to 1 years' experience in a similar role within the M&E or manufacturing industries
  • Good mathematical and technical skills.
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.
  • Good written and Oral communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Full UK driving license with access to own transport.

Desired Criteria:


  • Certification in quality control is preferred.
  • An understanding of Inspection processes.
  • Experience of weld inspection.
  • An understanding of Electrical or Mechanical Schematics.
