Description

The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination, accurate collection and submission of data within the clinical information remit, liaising with clinical teams, providing day to day management support to the clinical information team and liaising with the Trusts clinical leads for the relevant information standards.


The post holder will be responsible for the provision and development of comprehensive performance management and data interrogation for clinical information that meet current and future needs.

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Information Lead within the Clinical Information Department, at St Helens & Knowsley Hospitals Trust.

This is an 18-month fixed term/secondment post.


We require a highly motivated, team player with excellent communication skills in order to negotiate with and motivate all members of the team to ensure audit and data needs are met.

The post holder will be required to work on his/her own initiative and plan own workload and workload of the Cancer Information Team accordingly.


The post holder will work closely with and deputise for the Clinical Information and Data Quality Manager on the provision of timely and relevant performance management and data interrogation.

You will play a key role in scoping, producing and providing analyses to clinicians and the care groups.

The post holder will have:


  • Significant experience in analysis of complex health care data presentation and interpretation of information
  • Experience in line management/supervisory role, including objective setting
  • Knowledge of cancer waiting times target definitions
  • Knowledge of other Clinical information focus areas, including Cancer Stroke


The post holder will provide a professional information service supporting the clinical data agenda and encompassing the management of the clinical information systems and Cancer and Clinical Information Team to ensure the collection and analysis of appropriate and accurate data whilst adhering to all relevant deadlines.


The post holder will provide an analytical clinical information service for Trust management, clinicians, the cancer network and national clinical audit programme.


The post holder will work closely with the Cancer Data and Performance Manager and clinical teams to devise accurate data collection tools.

The post holder will have proven team working skills and experience in the production of reports, documents and presentations. He/she will be proficient in the use of Trust systems

KEY DUTIES

  • Demonstrate an indepth knowledge of the relevant clinical information standard areas, for example, cancer information, NJR, etc.
  • Build on work already established and lead on clinical information projects and initiatives, such as Cancer, NJR, etc within St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals in line with national and local priorities.
  • Ensure there are robust processes in place to identify all patients admitted to the Trust for the clinical information projects under the Corporate Information Department remit.
