One of our clients in the civils sector is actively recruiting for a Setting Out Engineer with a solid background in remediation, earthworks or enabling works.

About the client

Award wining remediation and enabling contractor that provides solutions on a diverse range of projects from small fuel spills through to large multitechnology soil and groundwater remediation projects.
Regular clients include developers, environmental consultants, local authorities and industry.
Over 18 years industry experience with an outstanding track record of successfully delivering projects across the UK.

About the role

Use of GPS and total station equipment
Setting out to include; excavation extents, formation levels, proposed development layouts etc
Surveying to include; excavation extents, stockpiles, monitoring wells, pile mats, sampling / testing locations etc
Initial Site Topographical Surveys
Use of Autocad to produce, edit and process engineering drawings
Developing isopachytes for Cut and Fill earthworks
Calculating Volumes and Areas for Earth Moving
Developing 3D models for intelligent dozers / excavators
Assisting with technical issues
Workload selfmanagement and good communication with project teams
Training and oversight of Remediation Engineers to carry out interim basic setting out and surveying activities

years experience in a related discipline such as earthworks / remediation / site enabling / civil engineering / construction.

Competence in setting out, surveying and Autocad is required.
Knowledge of earthworks practices, and experience using 3D modelling software, is desirable, although full training can be provided as required.
