  • As the Supply Chain Demand Planner Assistant, you will:
  • Support the strategic and daily management of demand and supply planning and operational materials ordering & stock control.
  • Be accountable for and assist stock management of all raw materials and finished goods, ensuring stocks are held within agreed minimum and maximum levels.
  • Effective thirdparty management ensuring full supply chain is managed with effective key performance measures, wastage, stock, delivery on time and in full inclusive of suppliers and thirdparty warehouse and transport.
  • Help to develop the short, medium
- and long-term planning requirements of the daily operation from raw material manufacture to finished goods, reporting upon daily site metrics and yields in raw material manufacture to finished goods, ensuring product availability at each stage of the process driving towards becoming a trusted partner.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the management of the supply chain, ensuring customer service and effective cost management
  • Work cross functionally to ensure customer requirements are met on time and in full, including working closely with sales and customer services, reviewing forecast patterns aligned with customer demand
  • Manage the customs clearance process for imported goods and materials by working closely with suppliers/hauliers and customs agents
  • Contribute to the development of the manufacturing vision and the strategic plan to deliver the company objectives
  • Support the development, and agree site delivery plans with Operations Director and key stakeholders, driving a culture of continuous improvement, reliability, quality, safety, and team development
  • Any other reasonable duties, as requested

Safety

  • Support internal HSE consultant or appointed site safety representative in the management of external safety relationships with government authorities, customers, and other interested stakeholders.
  • Help to drive safety across sites with the support of the internal HSE consultant or appointed site safety representative.

Productivity

  • Line performance through effective planning, changeover time reduction and nonproductive time minimisation
  • Wastage elimination through prime material yield

Quality
Effectively demonstrate full product traceability across the supply chain in accordance to the required BRC standard whilst training this capability within the team

  • Effective legislative compliance for the acceptance and export of goods

Cost

  • Help to develop and fulfil stretching budget demands for the site establishing and maintaining appropriate financial management and review
  • Six monthly reviews across supply base challenging cost
  • Deliver continuous improvement in site costs to reduce unit cost

Delivery

  • Fulfilment of line performance / reliability expectations against the planned yield rates supporting product availability to service delivery becoming a trusted partner
  • Maintenance of schedule adherence to ensure expected product mix is supplied

People

  • Enhance the value of the collective effort through establishment of high performing teams
  • Embed Company purpose, vision, values and behaviours within the site, and are aligned to driving the Maldon way of operating, where all employees play in position and understand the total goal of the organisation
  • Manage effective employee relations

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience of working within a supply chain planning role
  • Numerate and articulate, able to communicate detailed reports to others
  • Full working knowledge of manufacturing and planning principles is essential
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft office, with particular focus on Excel
  • Sage X3 experience is highly desirable

Qualifications:


  • 5 GCSE C / Above or similar
