We are looking for someone to join our Technology Strategy and Enterprise Architecture team, which leads on driving the society's innovation agenda, publishing technology horizon scanning insights and regularly refreshing the Society's technology strategy.

In addition, we communicate the strategy across the organisation and monitor the execution of the strategy via the Enterprise Architecture Board.


Reporting to the Head of Technology Strategy, you will support activities to define the technology strategy, communicate it across the organisation and govern its execution.

You will also lead on the creation of insights on emerging or maturing technologies for board level consumption and support wider initiatives related to the technology agenda (e.g. our innovation process and proof of concepts).

What you'll be doing:


From reviewing papers and external insight to working with our partners, you will lead on creating our internal point of view on technology and how it could benefit or how we mitigate any risk to the Society.

You will need to synthesise and create the Society's point of view, ready to present to C level.

You may also be leading on Proof of Concepts to test the value and feasibility of these new capabilities to the Society.

You will need strong Stakeholder management and collaboration skills and the ability to drive forward in ambiguous situations.


About you:

You will be a technologist who wants to play a leading role in building the Society's strategic technology agenda and will have the following experience and skills:

  • A fascination with technology and how it can solve business problems; you are a strategic thinker.
  • Experience in tracking technology trends and supporting an innovation/PoC process would be an advantage.
  • A proven track record of delivery leadership and building strong, longterm relationships, with a broad and diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and solve diverse questions in a structured manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in written and visual presentations, as there is a requirement to create papers and presentations for Clevel executives. You must have the ability to articulate problems and solutions concisely.
  • A passion for continuous improvement.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Experience in aligning an organisation's technology strategy with its overall business strategy and goals.
  • Experience of agile and iterative delivery methods.
  • Understanding of Banking technology, Knowledge of new Technologies Eg AI.
