As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements for a variety of clients ranging from sole-traders and partnerships, landed estates including complex trust structures, to corporate single entities and groups.

You will work as part of a team to deliver our uniquely personal and proactive service, upholding the highest standards in client service.


You will:

- work with our expansive and varied client base, including a number of high-profile landed estates and large corporate clients and groups with turnover up to £500m
- lead the preparation of financial statements for complex estate and trusts, medium and large companies and corporate groups
- coach and support trainees to prepare accounts for simpler entities including sole-traders, partnerships, small companies and trusts, and perform a review of their work
- prepare or review VAT returns, and support clients with bookkeeping including answering questions on transaction entry and assisting with the implementation of management reporting
- work alongside the Partners and Managers to deliver advisory work including preparation of financial forecast models, business plans, restructuring advice and other ad hoc projects
- gain exposure to the delivery of complex capital tax advice and succession planning projects
- build and maintain strong relationships with our clients, being a key client contact
- be enthusiastic about developing your knowledge, including learning about new developments in the space through attendance at industry events and conferences
- be keen to develop your reputation in the market by engaging with clients and co-professionals
- supervise, coach and develop the accounts team

The office:


The Peterborough office of Saffery is located easily off the A1, adjacent to Nene Park; offering an on-site gym, café, electric car charging and free parking.

Our light and airy offices have been designed to provide a working space that is conducive to team collaboration and agile working.


You:


  • You should have prior experience in an audit and accounts role, with emphasis on accounts experience.
  • You should be motivated, organised, commercially minded, and have a clear perception of good client service. In addition, you should possess good interpersonal skills, demonstrate initiative and be able to provide accurate work in a timely and costeffective manner. Furthermore, you should display a flexible, professional approach, and have the confidence and ability to establish credibility with Partners and clients. A natural team player is essential, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Familiarity with relevant accounts software packages (Sage, Key Prime, Farmplan, Xero) preferred
