**Finance Officer

We are working with a
Local Authority in the
West Midlands who require the interim assistance of a Finance Officer to assist with their
year-end close down.

Start:
ASAP

Rate :
£250 per day (via umbrella, Inside IR35)

Duration:
Until the end of September 2023 with likely extensions

Hybrid working - 2 days in the office

Role Responsibilities:

Assist in carrying out a range of accounting, budgetary and financial administration duties
Deputise for the Finance Manager where appropriate
Maintenance and reconciliation of accounting records
Preparation of year end accounts
Provision of financial management information to service groups
Compilation and review of the budgets for all council services and schools
Prepare, calculate and notify schools of their delegated budget and forecasts
Maintenance and development of financial records and systems
Financial procedures relating to opening, closing, merging and amalgamating schools
Supporting Budget Holders and Schools with budget monitoring and forecasting
Preparation of claims for Grant and reimbursement
Preparation of Government returns, Treasury management, VAT and taxation
Degree or AAT qualified Member or equivalent
Substantial accounting and budgetary experience
