About the Role
Loomis Sayles is searching for a trading assistant to work with the European credit trading team. This position will report to the Director of European Credit Trading and will be located in London, UK.


Since the launch of the Euro Credit investment team in 2021, the London trading desk has experienced a rapid and significant increase in activity, and is now looking to expand to support the growth of the European business.

About the Team

The Trading Assistant will join an established team of 3 traders that combine nearly 40 years of experience in Credit Trading.


The London office comprises of 29 employees operating across a multitude of departments including Trading, Research as well as Relationship Management, and benefits from a diverse and international culture.

Loomis Sayles operates with a hybrid working environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • The primary responsibility for this position is to provide trading support to the European Credit trading team
  • This includes trade setup, confirmation to brokers, booking of trades, support of trade settlement as well as resolution of issues
  • Other responsibilities include support of new issue process and assist with preparation of trading statistics and activity reports
  • This employee will act as liaison to pricing, compliance, and settlements
Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 24 years experience on a Buyside trading desk. Sell side or experience in operations considered
  • Significant knowledge of fixed income cash pay bonds and credit derivatives
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong problemsolving mindset
  • Advanced spreadsheet based skills, with experience in analyzing large set of data
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and multitask
  • Quick learner; able to work accurately at a rapid pace with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Willingness to learn new processes and take ownership of task completion
  • Strong overall fit with the Loomis Sayles culture
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary
  • Right to work in the UK
Additional Requirements


Strong consideration will be given to the following:

  • Experience with Bloomberg a plus
  • Knowledge of VBA or Python a plus
  • CFA or MBA (complete or in progress)
