Description
Are you looking for work in an 'Outstanding' rated Trust? Maybe you are currently working at band 3 level in healthcare and wish to try a change of role? Or are you looking to join the NHS with future opportunities to further your career development? Or perhaps flexible working has become more of a priority?

We are currently looking for a Community Dietetic Assistant to provide effective nutrition support advice for patients in care homes and those living in their own homes mainly in Thanet, Dover and Deal area.

You will also work virtually from home undertaking telephone clinics to support patients with malnutrition.

We are looking for a motivated, organised and caring person who enjoys contact with people. We will value your ability to use your initiative and be flexible.

You will effectively manage your own day to day clinical caseload with supervision from a dietetic assistant practitioner or dietitian.

Your duties will include supporting our dietetic assistant practitioners and dietitians by talking to patients and care staff about food and fluid intake, reviewing and adjusting dietetic care plans according to care pathways, taking measurements such as weight and mid upper arm circumference to help monitor our patients progress in following their dietetic care plan.

Your role will include effective and timely liaison with GP's, prescription clerks and community pharmacists about oral nutrition supplement prescriptions.

You may already have an interest in nutrition, but previous knowledge/experience of the impact of nutrition in healthcare is not essential as we will provide comprehensive in-house training to meet your personal development for this role.

You will be fully supported by our clinicians through your induction and probationary period.

We will provide you with relevant equipment and a laptop to help flexibly fulfil patient care electronically and be able to work remotely in the community and work from home.

We are a friendly and forward-thinking team - working across Kent, with supportive leadership. Our large department has excellent administrative support.

You can be involved in exciting service quality improvement (QI) projects where your opinions and input will be welcomed and valued.

Being a car driver is essential as the ability to drive across a wide geographical area is required.

You will often work from home, occasionally from your base location in Dover or from other 'hot desk' options, and will regularly need to drive to various locations across east Kent to meet clinical service needs.

The NHS offers flexible working opportunities to help with work/life balance.
