Thank you for your interest in the post of steward with Historic Environment Scotland, based at Inchcolm Abbey. This is a part-year permanent and pensionable appointment.


The post holder will be responsible for delivering the highest standards of visitor experience at Inchcolm Abbey, working across all areas, including in the shop, admissions area and outside which includes pier duties.


This post sits within the Central East district comprising thirty-five monuments, of which eight are staffed including the sites listed above.

You will be part of a team of stewards working at Inchcolm Abbey, led by a Monument Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to work for the lead body responsible for the historic environment in Scotland.

You will be actively involved in work which supports providing the best experience for our visitors - ranging from: greeting our visitors, selling admission tickets or processing online bookings, selling our range of retail products or outlining the history and landscape of the site to our diverse visitor base.
