Empowering Learning are recruiting for a Youth Worker on behalf of a lovely Rochdale based secondary school to work on a one to one basis with a year 10 student with Social and Emotional needs.

The student needs a empathetic and compassionate individualwith an understanding of the issues they face on a daily basis.

The successful Youth Worker must also show a willingness and ability to develop a positive rapport with the students family and be confident informing the family of progress on a daily/weeklybasis.

The school are looking for a dedicated and passionate Youth Worker to join our Learning Support Team.

There would be the opportunity to gain your Level 1, 2 and 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification with the Academy.


As a Youth Worker you will supervise individuals and groups of children in order to accelerate their progress and learning, working in close liaison with teaching staff and leaders to ensure students catch-up with their learning (enabling them to do well andaccess the full curriculum).


You will also work with the Director of Special Educational Needs and Learning Support to assist with the planning and delivery of the Key Skills and Catch-Up group work-shops and support teachers to ensure such students develop good and great attitudes tolearning.


The school has a strong focus on supporting those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with almost 1 in 3 receiving free school meals.

For this Youth Worker role it is imperative that you meet the schools values of inclusivity and removing barriers to learning.
