Document Control Assistants form the Document Control Team who are responsible for processing incoming post for the entire firm via the centralised digital mailroom based in Peterborough.

This includes opening, sorting, scanning and electronically distributing large volumes of incoming post. Also preparing outgoing post, as well as some general administrative duties within the LSO.


Document Control Assistants are also the first point of contact for greeting clients, visitors and deliveries, part of the role is to create an excellent first impression, providing a welcoming and professional environment, and delivering high quality customer service.


You will need to be organised, able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, learn new skills and be able to work in a team or individually to ensure all post is processed daily.

Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, offering 26 days holiday plus Bank Holidays. Due to the nature of this position, we can only offer as fully office based.


This role involves but is not limited to:

  • Opening post, sorting, scanning, separating original documents and distributing mail from the digital mailroom tool
  • Processing outgoing post including letters and parcels, using Royal Mail PPI system, Click & Drop or couriers as appropriate
  • Dealing with colleague queries on mailroom
  • Greeting clients and visitors, maintaining a professional approach
  • Accepting/processing client documentation
  • Certifying ID documents
  • General admin duties
  • Receiving deliveries into the office and distributing accordingly
  • Providing refreshments for clients and meetings
  • Covering holidays and sickness of team members
  • Arranging courier/parcel deliveries and collection when required
  • Training new members of the team as necessary
