Project Engineer - Utilities

We are delighted to be workingwithan independent engineering and project management consultancy based in Cardiff. This consultancy has been appointed to shape a high profile, major new development in South wales.

They require an experienced design engineer from a utilities background to assist with the delivery of several large scale projects.

This consultancy covers anumber of disciplines and numbers around 30 staff. This role would also lead to quick progression within the business.

Qualifications:


  • Degree Qualified;
  • A relevant Electrical Engineering or Gas/Water Network Design qualification
  • Masters Qualified;
  • Progressing towards Professional status

Experience:


  • Greater than 3 years

Technical Skills:


  • Have an appreciation for risk, programme and cost.
  • To have an understanding of planning and permitted development rights
  • Understanding of statutory approvals
  • Attention for detail
  • Ability to write written reports
  • Proficient at working as part of a team
  • Computer software experience
  • Organised, selfmotivated, with good time management skills

Technical Role Specific Skills:


  • To project manage and coordinate Utilities diversions with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • To review design work to identify easements and other key information at the early stage of projects.
  • To provide a focal point for all utility engineering issues on major infrastructure projects.
  • Experienced in site engineering on major infrastructure and development projects relating to utilities and drainage.
  • Ability to specify and manage surveys.
  • Proven experience in utility design.
  • A demonstratable experience with utility regulation and adoption processes.
  • Good awareness of CDM and health & safety regulations

General:


  • Good communicator and proactive team member someone who can confidently articulate the basis of their design or perspective, whilst being able to take on board and incorporate valid viewpoints of others;
  • Someone who works efficiently with good time management skills;
  • Ability and confidence to be Client facing;
  • Confidence to contribute in design teams and be a proactive, engaged team player;
  • General I.T. proficient in the Office suite of software;
  • Full UK Driving licence;
  • Willingness to travel.
