Job Specification - Crankshaft Grinder

Location:
Based at the Sheffield Site.


Job Type:
Permanent, 37.5 hours per week.


Salary:
£ basic salary depending on experience

Plus shift allowance of up to £2,470 average for 2 shift working (Mornings/ Afternoons) - likely to be required.

Shift allowance of up to £3,172 average for 3 shift working (Mornings/ Afternoons/ Nights) - Depending on business needs, occasionally required on key processes.

The position is for 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

• Health and Safety requirements including correct use of PPE, workspace cleanliness, COSHH.
• Ability to understand operation and method sheets.
• Working with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Understand engineering drawings (geometric tolerancing).
• SPC charts.
• Experience / Knowledge of CNC control systems (Siemens 840D Advantageous)
• Cylindrical grinding between centres.
• Change over and set of a grinding machine.
• Mounting and balancing a grinding wheel.
• Knowledge of grinding wheels, surface roughness and experience working to tight tolerances.
• Use of comparators, gauges, micrometres and other task specific measuring equipment.
• Understanding of measurement reports.
• Ability to work under pressure.
