Summary
A self-motivated and creative administrator to support fee earners in the Group Legal and General
Counsel/Company Secretary. Group Legal act for the business in considering a range of legal matters
and advise group entities on commercial contracts, corporate governance, disputes, and its portfolio
of investment/property assets from a corporate risk perspective.

The role is available on a permanent basis, with full-time hours. You will be based in Bristol and work

with and support fee earners across the departments and group entities.

The Role
To support fee earners across Group Legal and our General Counsel/Company Secretary in handling
cases and preparing for meetings. You will be expected to perform administrative and clerical tasks as
well as legal research. Must also maintain case files, drafts letters and notices, format and review legal
documents and supports the legal precedent bank.

This is an administrative role. Some legal knowledge is helpful but not a pre-requisite. Areas of law and
specialism are generalist and wide ranging, and may include, but not be limited to, Commercial

***Property, Commercial Contracts, Trusts, Litigation, Employment, Intellectual Property and Information

Technology.

Collects and organises documents on case files for qualified individual lawyers to review.

Keeps case management system and where appropriate, client files organised and up to date in
paper and/or electronic format within LawWare.

Conducts conflict checks, AML checks and file opening procedures.

Assists Company Secretary with company board, taking notes, putting meeting packs together,
etc.

Formatting legal documents with company branding, and formatting documents with correct
numbering, paragraph heading and cross referencing tools.

Making amends to precedents or fee earners text using track change. Assisting with the preparation of
correspondence, advice notes, reports and notices.

Managing shared calendars and coordinating rotas.

Tracking and ensuring that the team meets deadlines, key performance indicators, service
standards and regulatory reporting requirements are met, including maintaining and circulating
work trackers and reports to ensure other areas of the business are kept up to date.

Collating case summaries for reports to committees and assists with producing MI and other
reports.

Supporting fee earners with transactional work including legal research, contract reviews,
preparing legal documents, working alongside assisting in managing third party solicitors and
payment of invoices.

Chasing third parties where necessary to ensure that legal matters are progressed with necessary
speed.

Taking minutes for meetings or calls.

Attends to basic clerical tasks, such as photocopying, making and receiving phone calls, filing
correspondence, booking meeting rooms, etc.

Records and handles office functions including all incoming and outgoing post duties, including
scanning.

Generally assisting the department on any other ad hoc areas such as monitoring sundries,
refreshments and stationary.

Processing of instructions and any related task activity accurately and to the service standards
set by Curtis Banks, at all times maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating discretion.

To fulfil any other reasonable requirement of the department.

Proactively identifies risk within the department and escalates concerns to line manager.
