Are you ready to be the welcoming face of The Welsh House Cardiff, providing customers with exceptional service and showcasing the warmth of Welsh hospitality? We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who are eager to embrace the vibrant atmosphere of our venue on weekends.


The Role:


As a Host/Hostess, your role will be pivotal in providing a warm welcome to guests and seating them according to the seating plan and guest requirements.


Your key duties will include:

  • Actively greeting and seating guests: As the first point of contact, you'll welcome guests inside or outside the venue, creating a positive first impression. Your role extends beyond seating, you'll also engage with passersby, enticing them to experience our restaurant's delights.
  • Ensuring all guests are promptly and courteously registered and attended to with accuracy in the most professional way.
  • Having a good knowledge of the menu and styles of service.
  • Using promotional materials to encourage guests to explore our offerings.
  • Being fully aware of the table layup and miseenplace prior to, during, and after service.
  • Providing a friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times.
  • Promoting a good team spirit and fostering positive relationships within the restaurant and kitchen brigades.
  • Informing supervisors of all guest comments and requirements that cannot be resolved immediately.

Promoting:


  • Engaging with guests to highlight daily specials and promotions.
  • Distributing promotional materials, such as flyers or menus, to passersby.
  • Encouraging guests to explore our welsh food and drinks menu offerings.
  • Providing information about upcoming events or special dining experiences.
  • Utilising social media platforms to showcase our restaurant's unique features and offerings.

Reservations:


  • Managing incoming reservation requests promptly and accurately.
  • Assisting guests in securing their preferred dining times.
  • Utilising reservation management software to organise and track bookings.
  • Confirming reservations and communicating any special requests to the Cardiff team.

About you:


  • Be a selfmotivator and someone who is ready to challenge in the interest of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent level of English.
  • Be friendly, approachable, and professional.
  • Fluent welsh speaker is desirable.
