We are looking for personnel to join our team and support key client projects.


Background
Our client is a world leading Aerospace and Defence company, with several installations and sites throughout the UK. Due to increases in their business operations is now seeking temporary support to increase capability and capacity.

Our client's Procurement Organisation manages commercial agreements with all external suppliers. Equipment Procurement (PE) is responsible for procurement of complex, high value aircraft systems.

The PELB team is responsible for the sourcing and commercial management of Fuel and Inerting Systems for all of our client's commercial programmes.

As a Buyer in PELB you will contribute to all sourcing activities throughout the contract life cycle, managing tendering and contract negotiations to achieve business targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and lead Procurement activities for Fuel and Inerting products including securing the contractual framework with the suppliers
  • Lead the sourcing activities as applicable, managing the tendering and the contract negotiation to achieve the best purchasing conditions in accordance with Company requirements and procedures
  • Act as the main focal point for the contracts internally and externally and manage the daytoday relationships with suppliers and running projects to optimize customer value, while minimizing total cost of ownership & risks
  • Coordinate with the Multi-Functional Team (Engineering, Programme, Finance and Supply Chain, Quality etc.) for all activities related to the contracts
  • Assist in defining and implementing the commodity strategy, perform market analysis and support global sourcing and offset initiatives
  • Support value creation projects, innovation and future product developments including Research and Technology projects as required for Fuel and Inerting Systems
  • Implement procurement policy
  • Ensure accurate financial forecasts together with Financial Controlling in relation to financial risks and opportunities for the Suppliers/Contracts
  • Ensure risk and opportunity management is embedded in the daytoday operations
  • Ensure all opportunities for counter claims for whatever reason are collated and charged back to the supplier

Key Aspects

  • Negotiating and contracting specific price agreements in relation designtocost and modification activities
  • Ensure contractual parameters are adhered to by the suppliers with a special focus on consequential management in relation to nonquality and late deliveries
  • Working collaboratively and ensuring the link between the Supplier and the Airbus MFT in all topics impacting the supplychain to ensure "1Airbus voice" to the supplier
  • Ensuring the accurate financial coverage of financial risks/opportunities for Airbus ensuring the link with Financial Controlling for the activities in relation to the Suppliers/Contracts
  • Management of relationships between Airbus and specific Commodity suppliers and ensure regular reviews take place at all appropriate levels to highlight and manage issues

Skills & Experience Essential

  • Experience in working in a multifunctional environment
  • Experience in stakeholder management and influencing internal customers
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills including at senior management level
  • Negotiation level in English

Skills & Experience Desirable

  • Commercial / Contract / Finance knowledge is desirable

Rate/s
- £33.00 per hour Deemed Limited
- £37.29 per hour Umbrella
- £28.19 per hour PAYE


Working Hours

  • Standard 35 hours across 4.5 days (working between 77 at business discretion)
  • Filton hybrid 60 & onsite/40% remote

Security Clearance
BPSS Plus Clearance (applied for when onboarded)
