The Role

My client is looking for an experienced Civil Engineering Foreman to work for their Carlisle office covering Cumbria, the Borders and southwest Scotland.

You will be a competent tradesman who has made a successful transition into supervision with a minimum of 5 year's experience, working as a foreman for a main contractor or sub-contractor who has worked on civil engineering projects with values upto £5m.

You will be comfortable and confident managing and leading teams of civil engineering operatives, sub-contractors and plant operators.

You must have a CSCS skills card and either SSSTS or SMSTS supervision qualification along with a First aid certificate.

We would expect to see a combination of the following training as a minimum including; abrasive wheel operation, confined spaces, forward tipping dumper as an example.

You will need a full driving license and have your own transportation to get either directly to site or to a designated pickup point.

This role will include a van after a probationary period.

You will be expected to have your own basic hand tools and full PPE to cover current Covid19 regulations, general groundwork scenarios, concreting, cutting steel and demolition as and when required.

You will be able to demonstrate your skill through references from previous employers where you have demonstrated reliability, timekeeping and excellent management skills.

The Client

Our client is based in Carlisle and regularly deliver civil engineering projects up to £5m and targets schemes across Cumbria and southern Scotland.

They are a family business and have a current turnover above £20m. They employ approx. 100 staff, supported by a strong local supply chain of sub-contractors and suppliers. They have been trading for over 50 years and own and operate their own plant.

Salary:
£35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
