Product Owner

London - Hybrid (40% office based)


We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Owner to play an important role in defining and driving the development of our digital products.

This role will focus on our customer first retirement proposition and work within a cross functional team seeking to identify, prioritise and rapidly test and iterate new features in order to ensure an outstanding customer proposition and commercial success.


Working alongside varied stakeholders to develop and communicate a product vision which aligns to the propositional ambitions of the business, as well as creating and maintain product roadmaps that's outlines planned features and enhancements.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Work across varied stakeholders, including customers, to elicit product requirements and prioritise based on customer and commercial value.
  • Create user stories and clear acceptance criteria to drive the development of features. Working with developers to ensure they are realised.
  • Manage the product backlog ensuring that features are appropriately prioritised which working across workstream for cross functional prioritisation.
  • Plan and coordinate sprints. ensuring that the content of those sprints is clearly defined and goals understood
  • Facilitate ongoing research and development to stay informed about industry (and out of industry) trends, competition, and emerging technologies to inform decision making and innovation.
  • Ensure that quality standard are defined and met through ongoing testing and validation.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of the product and new features.
  • Being a customer advocate to ensure the product meets their needs and expectations

Skills and Experience:


  • Degree or professional equivalent, or significant experience in similar role (essential)
  • Formal Agile qualification e.g. SCRUM
  • Creating and working with Direct to Consumer digital propositions
  • Working in an Agile 'change environment' with methodologies such as SCRUM
  • Communicating to a small group of people and to an appropriate level of detail
  • Working in a customer focused environment creating disruptive customer propositions
  • Ability to plan, manage & prioritise own workload, e.g. personal planning, organisations
  • Strong objectivity and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication skills (i.e. written, verbal & visualisation)
