Job description

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Professional to lead the Health and Safety function across the University.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer you will provide strategic leadership, develop a University Health and Safety Management action plan and raise the Health and Safety profile by being the University's senior advisor on all Health and Safety related matters.

You must process a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and Membership of the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent, along with a knowledge of or qualifications covering ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.

Having experience of working within a complex organisation with an ability to work strategically you will have a strong track record of leading in the development, review and maintenance of Health and Safety Policies and procedures with excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with the ability to secure engagement from various stakeholders.

You should have line management experience and be able to demonstrate your ability to develop, motivate and direct others in the provision of a professional Health and Safety service.
