Subcontract Materials Handler


SALARY:
Competitive


HOURS:37 1⁄2 hours per wk -Mon - Thurs / Fri

(Overtime hours possible)

ABOUT THE ROLE:


We have an exciting brand new position for a Subcontract Materials Handler to play a key role in our Supply Chain team.

If you are a motivated individual with a passion for efficient material handling, this could be the position for you

This role will oversee the movement, storage and distribution of our component parts between MSI and subcontract finishing suppliers. You will support our operations activities to enable a smooth flow for ongoing production.


The main responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate component part picking from stores and despatch to subcontractor.
  • Organise collection and receipt of parts post subcontract treatments (painting or surface treatments).
  • Prepare received parts for inspection including but not limited to unwrapping, demasking, identifying to engineering drawings.
  • Wrap and protect parts to issue to stores or main build area.
  • Assist with Supply Chain related fitting operations including, fettling castings, tapping threads, fitting helicoils, reworking components and fork lift activities.
  • Any other such duties that may be reasonably compatible with the nature and scope of the role

ABOUT THE PERSON:

Essential

  • Proven work experience as an assembly technician or a similar role
  • Have experience and be able to use a selection of hand held tools
  • Be a good team player with the ability to work using own initiative when required
  • Work in a safe and orderly manner to ensure all company H&S standards are adhered to
  • Work at an acceptable pace to meet deadlines, without sacrificing H&S & Quality standards
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to work effectively and accurately when completing tasks
  • Have the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight schedules.
Desirable

  • Forklift licence would be desired but not essential, a willingness to learn as it would be a requirement going forward
  • Able to read and fully understand technical engineering drawings


  • Computer Literate

  • Working knowledge of MS Office, and a MRP or ERP system
