Job Purpose:


Responsibilities:


  • Deliver and manage groundbased verification testing of the Zephyr air system
  • Define and establish a test environment suitable for Zephyr development and certification data gathering and verification
  • Work with the wider test team to define and manage instrumentation systems (including Flight Test Instrumentation) and data reduction
  • Work with engineers and technicians to integrate new systems for test
  • Assist with the management and development of organisational governance and novel test procedures and practices
  • Share and develop best practice to enhance the Test & Evaluation of the Zephyr air system

Essential Experience and Qualifications:


  • Educated to degree level or higher in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrable experience in aeronautical test engineering environments not limited to: airframe structural testing, avionics and system integration, environmental verification (vibration, temperature & electromagnetic)
  • Experience in aircraft certification testing in a Part 21J environment
  • Ability to make and implement complex technical decisions under pressure in a smallteam environment

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:


  • Knowledge and understanding of UK CAA or EASA fixedwing certification standards
  • Experience with complex or large UAS
  • Knowledge of and experience with COTS or bespoke instrumentation software (i.e. IADS)
  • Experience with MATLAB, C++ or other relevant programming language
  • Capable of explaining technical details to customers in a concise and expert manner
