An exciting opportunity for an experienced Librarian has arisen to join this leading university on a part time basis. The role offers 21 hours per week which will require you to be flexible with the working hours to work evenings and weekends and regular late night shifts (until 11.30pm)

The Reader Services Team plays a pivotal role in fostering a welcoming environment for users and overseeing access to the library's collections and spaces.
Summary of role:
During weekend opening hours, the role encompasses providing expert specialist assistance to library users both in-person and remotely, ensuring seamless access to and discovery of the institutes unique collections for learning, teaching, and research purposes.
You will work flexibly with Reader Services colleagues to contribute to the efficient operation of front-of-house services at all library service points.
Additionally, the role involves sharing senior responsibilities with Reader Service Team Leaders.Knowledge and Experience:
- Demonstrates ability and keen interest in innovating teaching and research methods.
- Sound understanding of professionally recommended standards in library cataloguing.
- Confident and clear presentation style.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience in preparing and delivering training sessions, supporting the development of reading lists, data curation, and related activities.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Effective negotiation skills with the capacity to influence thinking at a senior level.
- Project delivery capability.
- Strong planning, organisational, and prioritising skills.
- Ability to generate innovative ideas and recommendations for change/improvement.
Other:
- This role offers 21 hours per week requiring flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, with regular evening shifts extending until 11:30 pm.
