This role is to work on a Clean Energy project for an offshore windfarm substation which will run for months.


Wood in Staines is currently recruiting a number of Senior / Principal Piping Designer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry using E3D.

These roles are on a contract basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Workscope

Carrying out various piping activities and preparation of deliverables as necessary on their appointed project:
Pipe routing and equipment layouts using the AVEVA E3D software package

Preparation and issue of 2D deliverables - Plot Plans and elevations, Piping GAs, Isometrics

Signing drawings and documents as originator/checker in accordance with correct procedures

Ensuring engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities etc

Execution of assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures and client and project standards

Adhering to Wood engineering procedures for design safety and adopting safe attitudes towards engineering design and raising features affecting the safety and integrity of the project with appropriate authorities

Correct interpretation and implementation of all piping CAD and system related functions in their appointed area

QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive experience in offshore facilities, process plant projects, working for a major contracting company

Experience working in a variety of projects including Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED and EPC for both brownfield and greenfield developments

Strong knowledge of pipe routing best practices, with an ability to produce safe and efficient piping and equipment layouts quickly

An understanding of all aspects of Piping design considerations, including stress analysis, materials, industry codes and standards and specifications

A proactive approach to resolving design issues in collaboration with the Piping team and interfacing disciplines

Experienced in using intelligent CAD systems in the production of smart deliverables
