JOB SUMMARY
Liaise with all members of the Practice Team and Partners and other members of the Primary Health
Care Team, Patients, employees of local NHS acute and community provider Trusts, Health
Authorities, Social Services and other Statutory and Voluntary Organisations and undertake general administrative duties.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performance Standards a) Confidentiality to be maintained at all times b) The ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally thus displaying a competent and professional image of the Practice c) Accurate computer data entry skills are essential d) Confident and polite telephone manner

Major duties and responsibilities
a) Production of GPs correspondence

  • Typing of letters, medical reports and invoices for GPs and logging onto SystmOne

Meeting Administration a) Collation of agenda items for weekly Practice meeting b) Typing and distribution of weekly Practice Meeting Agenda c) Attending weekly Practice Meetings to take minutes and typing/distribution of same

(including Palliative Care Minutes)


4.
General Secretarial Duties
a) Retrieving and typing referral letters/reports b) Obtaining full patient details as and when necessary from SystmOne c) Answering telephone calls and ensuring any messages taken are passed on to the relevant person d) Provide typing required by the Practice Manager and other members of staff e) Photocopying and other ad hoc duties as necessary f) Communication with hospital secretaries g) Communication with patients h) Check referral forms are accurate (USS scans, 2ww proforma, physio and arrange scanning after processing) i) eRS (electronic referral system) - producing UBRN (unique booking reference number) request forms, processing the referral, making appointments for the elderly etc & sorting out all C&B queries j) Data collection of referrals for each GP - recording peer viewing (when necessary)
