Description

Examples of typical tasks are:

  • Supervises and trains staff in the performance of standard and routine accounting, cash control, special assignments, and other related tasks, (i.e., the accumulation, posting and preparation of data for reports or documentation). May delegate daily workassignments based on knowledge of departmental priorities and staff abilities.
  • Directs and/or assists in the performance of tasks when needed, e.g., unusual problems or questions, explaining procedures to new employees, etc.
  • Reviews work produced by Accounts Department to ensure accuracy and completeness, using own discretion.
  • Interviews prospective accounts staff, to determine best applicant for position based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required to perform the job.

Accounting:

Computes and analyses financial data to maintain accurate records of accounts and expenditures.


Examples of typical tasks are:

  • Provides technical assistance to accounts staff personnel in the preparation and/or modification of fiscalyear budgets.
  • Audits expenditures to ensure compliance with Company purchasing/accounting procedures.
  • Balances and reconciles accounts. Adjusts and corrects opening and closing entries.
  • Makes routine investments (FOREX) by telephone. Maintains uptodate records and receipts of all transactions
  • Trains new personnel in Company procedures. Supervises and provides technical assistance to accounting, clerical and supervisory personnel.
  • Compiles data and prepares reports on income and expenditures. Analyses current financial status in relation to current budget and prior year fiscal experience for current month.
  • Analyses direct reports' performance through reports, etc., and where necessary advises Manager.
  • Supervises department.

Report Preparation:

Compiles and verifies data for periodic financial and administrative reports.


Examples of typical tasks are:

  • Prepares various monthly, quarterly, and annual fiscal reports, including income statements, balance sheets and reports on special fund expenditures and transactions.
  • Maintains a complete set of budgetary control and general accounts. Takes trial balances and prepares monthly and annual reports.
  • Corresponds in writing with employees and outside agencies concerning requests for information, procedures, financial information, etc.
  • Information Exchange: Talks with Company employees, outside agencies and anyone else necessary or provide information related to finance.
  • Examples of typical tasks are:
  • Discusses with Company personnel status of specific accounts.
Verifies that sufficient funds are in particular accounts. Informs appropriate personnel of insufficient funds and of possible need to transfer funds.
  • Discusses problem areas in investments.

  • DUTIES & PERFORMANCE:

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:


    Skills:


    • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration, or at least 34 years' experience in similar position.

    Knowledge:
    - prepare periodic financial and administrative reports, and resolve complex accounting problems and/or questions. Judgement is exercised in the interpretation of guidelines and governmental regulations covering the field of work;
    - direct and assist clerical personnel in the performance of accounting-related functions and to ensure the accuracy of the work product. Variables encountered are both abstract and concrete in nature.


    Ability to:
    - maintain good relationships with employees, outside agencies, and others necessary to obtain or provide information. The position necessitates some explanation and interpretation of facts when discussing legality of expenditures or government regulations;
    - provide technical assistance or training to clerical personnel through verbal instructions and physical demonstration of work performed. Assignments are both general and specific in nature and are received primarily in verbal form

    Salary £4- 60k depending on the experience. The role comes with medical cover, contributory pension, as well as annual reviews and bonus.
