Description
This is a superb opportunity for an experienced Director of Sales to join an exciting, dynamic, passionate and innovative team.
The Property
The new 245-bed hotel, part of Marriott's Signature brand portfolio, will be located on Glasgow's George Street in sight of the city's iconic George Square.
The hotel will form part of a new mixed-use development, to be known as Love Loan, that will also see build-to-rent apartments, small-scale retail and studio space, as well as bar, restaurant and café uses being brought to the north east corner of George Square.
The hotel itself will consist of a beautifully restored A listed building and a sensitive modern extension, fronting directly on to George Street.
The hotel with feature a stunning FB concept, Hazel, incorporating modern contempory food with design aspects detailing some of the heritage of the hotels location within Glasgow.
Main Responsibilities
- Actively seek/identify, secure and contract new and repeat business for all areas of the business, across all market segments, with a particular emphasis on meetings, incentives, conferences exhibitions.
- Have ownership and responsibility for driving and delivering the agreed strategies in line with the Commercial Plan.
- Establish, build, and manage relationships within the RBH central sales team to maximise revenue opportunities from key national accounts.
- Become fully conversant with all RBH sales initiatives and tools, to utilise and build them into the commercial plan to maximise the benefits to the hotel.
- Research potential new accounts, conduct gettoknow calls, plan appointments and carry out weekly face to face sales calls in line with agreed targets.
- Utilise innovative RBH sales support tools to help with communicating with clients that you're unable to see facetoface
- Prepare account development plans to ensure maximum share from each account and their respective agency.
- Identify and secure appropriate group, tour operator and wholesale business by working with the RBH Leisure and Revenue team to help drive revenue, particularly over shoulder periods.
- Plan and execute sales trips to major market areas.
- Attend major travel functions and exhibitions to promote the hotel.
- Support the hotel General Manager and RBH marketing team to ensure effective data capture and database management processes and systems are in place for the hotel.
- Identify and target local leisure attractions to develop mutually beneficial affiliations and partnerships.
- Maintain extensive market and product knowledge and work with hotel on adapting products and services to match client requirements and business trends.
Key Requirements
- Experience and a successful track record of sales management in a hotel or hospitality venue.
- Experience of working for a major domestic or international brand is preferred
- Experience of working within and leading a structured team environment and able to demonstrate effective coaching skills.
- Strong commercial outlook sales and revenue driven.
- Excellent sales, customer care, account management and negotiation skills.
- Strong presentation and influencing skills.
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic
- Driven and determined to achieve results.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and engage effectively at all levels.
- A willingness to travel throughout the UK (presenting to prospective partner organisations, meeting, and entertaining clients, attending trade fairs/shows).
- Knowledge of
PMS and CRM systems preferred, although training will be given. - Report writing skills and able to use word; excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint for presentations.
