Summary:

A global leader in the power tools and home appliances industry with their UK HQ in Maidenhead is seeking a proven Senior NetOps Engineer to join their EMEA IT team to be instrumental in consolidating their current data centres into a centralised Co-Lo orPublic Cloud.

The role is ideal for someone experienced in designing simple, scalable solutions and troubleshooting complex network problems within a large and challenging environment.

The Senior NetOps Engineer will take responsibility for:

Leading network architecture and IT security tools
Deploying, scaling, troubleshooting and automating the network across multiple EMEAwide DataCenter, Cloud and ISPs.
Maintaining the integrity, availability, performance and capacity management of the networking infrastructure
Ensuring firewalls, routers, switches, access points and all other network devices are effectively maintained, patched, and administered by the NetOps team
Ensuring servers, storages, UPS and other server room hardware is effectively maintained, and administered by the NetOps team
Monitoring and analysing the network environment in order to identify opportunities to introduce efficiencies by way of automation
Maintaining and enforcing DataCenter standards for the EMEA DataCenters, distribution rack cabinets, and other areas containing critical infrastructure elements
Understanding the risk and impact of changes and approving/denying change requests
Ensuring effective monitoring, maintenance, and administration of automated network, server, power, and security alerting systems
Overseeing coordination and communication with the various stakeholders to coordinate maintenance windows & downtimes
Assisting with the implementation and documentation of disaster recovery processes and business continuity plans
Developing, improving and maintaining installation and configuration procedures, alongside networkrelated documentation

As Senior NetOps Engineer, you'll have:

3 + years of network design, administration and troubleshooting experience
3 + years of firewall architecture, administration and troubleshooting experience
Experience working with largescale networks
Experience in securing networks and devices with a range of security tools and software
A proven track record in developing protocols and procedures to ensure infrastructure and security best practices are upheld with the IT team
The ability to multitask across concurrent projects and tasks
A good understanding of networking within Public Cloud technologies
An understanding of virtualisation technologies and underlay infrastructure
An automationfocused mindset
Excellent communication, documentation, reporting, and presentation skills
Experience in using a ticketing system
Experience in supporting a global, distributed, multilanguage environment
ITrelated higher education qualification
Full UK Driving License
Ability to travel across EU
