The role


We are looking for a Senior Client Executive to join our agency partnership with The Very Group who will build, manage and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders using effective communication skills in order to support the total business commercial goals & targets.

You will be responsible for managing a variety of projects, whether that be via campaigns, activations and / or internal processes and be the point of contact for junior members in the team, supporting them with queries and coaching them through any potential challenges.


What you'll be doing
We pride ourselves on creating challenging and exciting opportunities, meaning that no two days are the same.

However, here's an idea of what your responsibilities will look like:


  • Owning relationships across our most strategically important clients and / or key contacts, looking to continuously build and solidify these
  • Leading brainstorms to help create and implement campaigns that will deliver results for our clients against agreed budgets and timelines
  • Communicating confidently with our clients, nuancing your approach with different stakeholders and ensure you present yourself as a trusted member of the team
  • Becoming familiar with typical objections to our proposition and work to be able to combat these with ease
  • Contributing ideas and recommendations for wider organisational projects, helping to create a great workplace and supporting with SMG's mission to lead connected commerce marketing

What you'll need to have / be

  • The ability to "think differently": as one of our key behaviours here at SMG, you won't be afraid to approach problems from a different angle or challenge the status quo and will have a solutionfocused mindset when tackling new tasks
  • Demonstrable experience working within a similar role, ideally within a marketing agency, a growing FMCG and / or the retail sector
  • Great organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to build highly collaborative relationships

The process

  • We will invite you to a
    first interview which we try to keep relatively informal, so it gives you the opportunity to share your authentic self. The hiring team will be looking to understand more about your experience and why you're interested in working with us.
  • There will be a
    second interview which will last a little longer, and involve some form of task to showcase your ability to do the role.
  • We then invite you to a
    meet & greet which is an opportunity for you to meet the team you'll be joining and ask them questions about the role and wider business.
