Opportunity of Manufacturing Operations Manager in successful, established business which is investing very heavily in people and state of the art manufacturing machinery.

Reporting to the Managing Director your responsibilities will span Production, Design/ProductDevelopment, Technical, Purchasing/Supply Chain and Customer Service.


The role offers a highly competitive negotiable salary commensurate with the responsibilities of the post together with an attractive bonus of up to 30% of salary plus 6% Pension contribution, BUPA and Life Insurance.


On site manufacturing processes in this 85 employee, £25m turnover business include CNC Milling, Casting, Sheet Metal fabrication and state of the art CNC laser cutting/folding.


Reporting to the Managing Director, your direct reports include Purchasing Manager, Production Manager, Production Team Leaders, R&D/Technical Manager and Customer Service Manager, Maintenance Manager and Senior Production Engineer.


The Manufacturing Operations Manager will work closely with the Managing Director on budgeting, standards and KPI's, continually striving to maintain a positive working culture which is safe and where employees feel supported and motivated.


Minimising waste, maximising efficiencies, ensuring everyone is behind the company's full commitment to sustainability / environmental issues and driving continuous improvement and Lean initiatives are all key.

Commercially aware and highly numerate you are an excellent verbal and written communicator. You will carry out appraisals and always look to develop and improve the skills of all employees.

Your management style is to lead by example, instilling a senseof value, respect and positivity and enabling employees to develop and to commit to Lean and Continuous Improvement in a flourishing business.


You will have acquired relevant Management experience in a similar role in the manufacturing sector in organisations where Lean methodologies have been utilised.


Pragmatic but enthusiastic in pursuit of achieving goals, you are a team player with a collaborative style who is able to set out clear objectives and maintain a positive environment in which those objectives are achieved.
