Location - near Leeds

Overview:


First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client, an award-winning steel structures contractor, to recruit a Site Manager to join their team near Leeds.

Working alongside a carefully selected supply chain, this construction specialist offersfar more than the manufacture and supply of steel structures.

Their scope of works includes engineered timber, tensile fabric, structural glazing, and feature lighting.

This allows our client to offer to offer a comprehensive design and build solution to maincontractors, direct clients and local authorities that makes them truly stand out from their competition.

Working across design, manufacture and install, this construction specialist puts passion and professionalism above all else. As such they are looking for individuals with real enthusiasm for innovative design in construction.

The Site Manager role is splitbetween the office and site, and you will coordinate and supervise the site activities on a wide variety of projects.

You will be expected to travel throughout the UK to both meetings and sites.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Working with Project Managers and other company staff to prepare site project related documentation.
  • Managing and monitoring the company's onsite activities throughout installation stages of a project.
  • Familiarise themselves with the scope of works, project specifications and industry standards.
  • Report work progress against programme and budget matters internally.
  • Collaborate with principal contractors, engineers, and other construction specialists.
  • Monitor and manage subcontractor activities on site, providing supervision where required.
  • Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems.
  • Comply with current Health & Safety legislation and requirements, building and safety codes, and other regulations.
  • Ensure that all site works are undertaken in accordance with the company's Quality procedures.

Skills and Experience:


  • Technical knowledge relevant to the project, and previous experience within the structural steelwork sector [essential].
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
  • Logical thinking and creative problemsolving ability.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of budget control and commercial matters.
  • The ability to work well with others and lead a team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Good IT skills, and the ability to work with MS365 suite of tools.
