Description
As Health & Safety Officer, some of your key duties will include:


  • To work proactively with managers to establish and maintain a system that promotes a culture of safe working practices across the organisation.

To assist managers, implement Health & Safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements,such as accident reporting and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) in a consistent and effective manner.

To provide direct support and leadership of the Health, Safety and environmental requirements to all departments including the battery directive.

To ensure the Company's Health, Safety & Environmental Policy is implemented and monitored consistently across the business.

To assist in the identification of training needs for employees and develop/deliver training as required.
To support managers to maintain safe systems, providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support.

Ensure all contracting employees are compliant and work in accordance with site procedures.

To carryout audits to evaluate the effectiveness of Health, safety & Environmental systems, and procedures, identify and implement improvements.

Investigate and to assist others to investigate the circumstances and causes of accidents and take necessary steps to prevent a recurrence.

To ensure routine Health & Safety activities and checks are carried out e.g., testing of portable electrical appliances, internal asbestos surveying, emergency lighting, the review of risk assessments and where necessary introduce relevant controlmeasures.

- **Support the Quality team with ISO9001 auditing requirements.
