Hours of work: 30 hours per week (term time and school holidays)

Premier Education is working collaboratively with primary schools to deliver exceptional before and after school care that is innovative, inspiring and above all a safe environment for all in our care.

Your role will be to provide activities in a safe, secure and fun environment, providing an outstanding service for busy parents.

Premier Education successfully runs full Wraparound provision in primary schools in the Essex, Suffolk and Kent areas. Our Premier Wraparound centers are Ofsted registered and can provide high quality out of school care for the parents.

  • Dale Hall Community Primary (Ipswich)
  • Sir Robert Hitcham's CofE VA Primary School (Woodbridge)
  • Sir Robert Hitcham's CofE VA School (Stowmarket)
  • Stratford St Mary Primary School (Colchester)
  • St Pauls Infants School (Maidstone)

4 x New Sites starting in September 2023

Reporting directly to the Wrap Around Venue Lead, the Playworker Apprentice will be required to:

  • Be enthusiastic individuals that have an interest in working within local community settings, within schools, and holiday camps;
  • Working alongside our team, you will be caring and supporting children in play;
  • You will be creating a stimulating and adventurous environment, allowing children to choose how they want to play.
  • A Playworker that will observe and monitor this play for children's development, engagement, and safety.
  • Set up learning spaces including moving equipment;
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining a safe environment;
  • Assist with planning, preparing, and delivering a highquality playing environment;
  • Provide comprehensive care for children of all ages;
  • Support and maintain the logging and confidential records;
  • Support children with literacy and numeracy;
  • Supporting the maintaining of good relationships with school, parents, and children.

Person Specification/Skills:


Essential:

  • Be able to assist with the planning of activities, supporting and engaging with children during the sessions.
  • Understanding the varied needs of children and their families
  • Understanding the issues of equal opportunities
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Sound judgment and common sense
Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children*Desirable:
  • Experience of working within a play
  • based setting
  • Competent in using IT to support play and club administration
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Food Hygiene Certificate
  • GCSE or equivalent Math & English (Grade A*C/94)
