Health Care Assistant

Base:
You may be required to work in other designated locations of the
Trust as well as your primary base. In particular, flexibility is
required across the three main hospital sites (Leicester Royal
Infirmary, Leicester General Hospital and Glenfield Hospital). If
your initial location is one of these sites excess travel
change of base.

Matron / Head of Nursing

We are looking an enthusiastic healthcare assistant to work in the Leicester Glenfield Outpatients department.

You will enjoy a challenging varied pace and an exciting working environment caring for a complex workload.

There are various Outpatient clinics specialising in Orthopaedics, Respiratory, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Breast Care, Vascular, Diabetes Oncology, Allergy and Sports Medicine

  • We can offer opportunities to gain knowledge and experience working within a diverse range of specialties.
  • You will be working closely with nursing and medical staff, you will also be part of the multidisciplinary team, to provide high quality care to patients and visitors.
  • You will need to have healthcare experience, excellent communication skills, positive personality and a mature and professional approach to their work. Computer skills are desirable. You must be able to deal with the public in a sensitive and polite manner, and be flexible in their approach to duties of work.

About the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust: )

  • Provide support to the Multi Professional team under the
direction of an appropriate Registered Health Care
Professional within all areas of the central outpatients
department.

  • This role can involve frequent walking and standing for long
periods of time. The post holder must also have the
physical ability to use manual handling equipment i.e.
hoists, trolleys and wheelchairs.

  • The post holder will be required to work flexibly and may be
called upon to work at one of the other UHL sites, including
the National Centre for Sports & Exercise Medicine
(NCSEM) at Loughborough University.

  • There are no budgetary responsibilities within this post
other than to be responsible for maintaining stock levels
within the department in line with trust policy and
procedures being aware of financial implications.

Health and Safety at work Act 197- To contribute to effective communication within the multidisciplinary team, receiving regular team updates and information for the effective day to day running of the department.


  • Post holder will be expected to attend regular
departmental team meetings. These will be held in the
OPD areas across UHL
