About The Role:


Are you an experienced Head of Product or Senior Product Manager looking for an opportunity to make a real difference to our NHS?

Are you a strong leader, driven by a desire to make processes and systems smarter, simpler and faster?


We are currently looking to appoint a Head of Product to join us, as we strive to become the NHS workforce partner of choice.

One of key aims of this role will be to improve corporate performance by managing and optimising NHS Professionals' core business & customer facing systems.


The Head of Product will have overall responsibility for ensuring that business process improvements and functional system improvements are delivered to time, cost and quality measures ensuring that stakeholder views and relationships are engaged.

You will ensure that all products under your management have a clearly defined three-year roadmap.

This roadmap will be detailed to function level in the first 6 months and rise to a high-level milestones-based approach by the end of the three years.

Therefore, it is essential for the Head of Product to be aware of the bigger picture and industry trends, and equally the details of individual products.


You will be leading 5 experienced Product Managers and play a key part in developing your team, creating an environment that helps them succeed, and improving the effectiveness of the product management function.

As a key member of the IT Management Team, you will be reporting to the Director of Product and working closely with all areas of the wider business including the IT Senior Leadership Team and the IT Business Partnership Team.


  • Be educated to degree level or have equivalent qualifications including Certified SAFe practitioner / product manager, Prince2 Practitioner or equivalent experience in Project Management or Equivalent Agile solution delivery experience
  • Have demonstrable experience mentoring / leading Product Management teams
  • Have extensive knowledge of Agile practices, Salesforce and cloudbased technologies in particular MS Azure
  • Developing effective working relationships with project and business teams to ensure optimum outcome for our customers and end users
  • Significant experience in influencing and managing stakeholders, with emphasis on roadmap prioritisation
  • Experience in vendor management negotiation, ensuring correct business level requirements upon SLA's
  • Coordination and control of external suppliers to ensure project success
