Location:

Salary:
Circa £65,000 + bonus


What you'll be doing:


  • Serving as the Design/Technical Authority, defining requirements, interfaces, and tradeoffs to meet various needs while ensuring safety and design integrity
  • Collaborating with external customers/stakeholders to shape requirements and act as an ambassador for training systems engineering
  • Leading technical design processes, focusing on compliance, system complexity, and schedule constraints
  • Assisting in defining technology and product strategy, ensuring alignment with goals
  • Ensuring products meet contractual, regulatory, and legislative requirements
  • Aligning technical, courseware, and service delivery requirements
  • Providing technical support to project managers, balancing technical risk with cost and schedule
  • Influencing future technology strategy and utilize common technologies across programs
  • Leading internal design reviews and act as a technical focal point for reviews
  • Collaborating with other Subject Matter Experts to share information and provide challenge to proposals
  • Leading study proposals, including reportwriting, presentations, and estimating
  • Supporting Research and Development (R&D) initiatives and business development and bid management activities

Your skills and experiences:


  • Strong Engineering Governance Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding and experience in engineering governance practices
  • Effective Communication and Collaboration: Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with colleagues, team members, and stakeholders at all levels
  • Solution-

Oriented Approach:
Capable of proposing solution recommendations and trade-offs while ensuring understanding of technical risk and cost implications

  • Technical Design Leadership: Guide technical design processes with a focus on compliance, complexity, and cost/schedule constraints
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in building strong relationships internally and externally, working across multidisciplinary teams and functional groups to resolve technical issues
  • Innovative Problem-Solving: Develop creative and innovative solutions based on analysis of multiple sources of information, considering stakeholder constraints and priorities
  • STEM Degree or equivalent and/or Chartered engineer is desirable

The Simulation & Training Group:
