An opportunity has arisen at the UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) to join the International Centre of Electronic Navigational Charts (IC-ENC) team as an Administrative Assistant.

If you offer the skills and experience to provide high quality administrative support, this position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and career in a world leading organisation and help unlock a deeper understanding of the world's oceans.

About the UKHO
The UKHO is an executive agency, sponsored by the Ministry of Defence.

We work with a wide range of data partners to chart the world's oceans in order to develop and serve world leading software and data solutions to commercial shipping companies, navies and maritime organisations.

The International Centre for Electronic Navigational Charts (IC-ENC) is a not-for-profit organisation operated within UKHO.

IC-ENC aims to provide services, at a low cost, to national Hydrographic Offices across the world, ensuring electronic navigational charts are internationally compliant.

IC-ENC's services are of significant global importance and ensure ships can navigate safely, efficiently and confidently.

The role
You will manage a complex and demanding workload, providing the IC-ENC Management Team with high quality administrative support.

  • Comprehensive minute taking at meetings and report writing
  • Supporting the organisation of events

The role will also involve communicating and liaising with a range of people within foreign government offices with the potential for international travel.

What we are looking for

You will need strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a range of international stakeholders clearly and diplomatically.

The ability and confidence to draft correspondence, take notes and capture actions as well as manage your own workload is equally important.

You will be a key team member, therefore the ability to work well within a team and support others is essential.

In return
UKHO is a great place in which to explore your career potential. While our projects are career-defining, the work/life balance that we can offer you is equally exceptional.

From flexitime, flexible working, an award-winning office environment and a generous annual leave allowance of 34.5 days including public holidays, the opportunities open to you here are hard to beat.
