Job Purpose:

This is an important role which ensures the smooth running of the Finance function.

You will support the team, enabling the business to operate efficiently, the role will also support the transition to a new finance system in the future.**Reporting directly to the Manager Cash AR & AP, you will need to work closely with other members of the team to ensure financial queries are actioned accurately and efficiently.

Your objectives will include upholding robust processes and controls.


Key Responsibilities include:


  • Full ownership of Bank and payment reconciliations including data entry for cash management into sage with full bank reconciliation
  • Full ownership of month end cash book close and balancing
  • Dealing with supplier invoices and payment queries
  • Supporting with the purchase invoices and sales invoices processes
  • Supporting with the month end and year end close and year end audit
  • Ad hoc financial analysis tasks
  • Distribution and management of the departmental post
  • Scanning/tagging of supplier invoices/statements
  • Monitoring/ordering of business stationery and related supplies for the Blackburn Office
  • Provide any support for ad hoc duties for the whole finance team

Education/Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:


  • GCSE Maths & English
  • Minimum part AAT qualified or relevant qualification
  • Previous experience working in a similar role
  • Strong Microsoft Excel spreadsheet skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to prioritise work and work towards a deadline
  • Inquisitive and like to understand 'why'
  • Pride yourself on the quality of your work and have a tidy approach to tasks
  • Able to communicate clearly with more senior members of the team
  • Ambitious and enjoy working in a fastpaced environment
  • Strive for improvement
