Technical Field Engineer


Akkodis has an exciting opportunity available and are currently working in partnership with a well establish engineering company They are recruiting an experienced Technical Field Engineer who can provide a high level of support across the UK.


Your office location will be Derby, but as this is a field role which includes a significant amount of travel (Nation-wide). A pool car will be provided in these situations and you will receive a subsistence allowance for any over-night / anti-socialhours.

Role type:
Permanent: Full time (37.5 hours p/w)


Salary:
£20,000 - £30,000.

The Role
As a Technical Field Engineer you will be offering on-site technical support to several clients UK wide.


The Responsibilities

  • Maintaining systems, products and services to the highest operational standards.
  • Generate accurate reports in a timely manner for external and internal customers.
  • Travel to rail depots UK wide or occasionally worldwide to fix/repair faults with company systems.
  • Parttake in an "On Call" rota in supporting customer and system queries.
  • Work with and alongside several internal departments i.e. Health & Safety, Project Management and Engineering.
  • Manage work record using company systems or fault tracking tools.
  • Update relevant documentation and log daily activities.

The Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Field Engineer, Systems Support Engineer or similar.
  • Notable qualifications in electrical engineering, electronics and mechatronics or the equivalent.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of electronics systems and electrical installation on rail vehicles or similar.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and critical thinking skills.
  • The ability to learn new skills quickly and effectively.
  • Experience using test equipment, including multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks in a timely fashion.
  • Great awareness of onsite safety.
