We are looking to recruit a Centre Assistant, who is enthusiastic and self-motivated to join our team working across our network of 8 Children Centres.


Working hours will be over 5 days, working on a rota basis with colleagues doing earlier or late shifts, therefore applicants need to be able to work flexibly between 8 am and 6 pm.

Applicants will need to ensure that a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout our centres. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate experience of working in a cleaning role.


Ensuring that all areas of the centre are prepared for relevant use, which would include cleaning and preparing our nursery settings, clean and tidying office facilities, setting up meeting rooms, and cleaning the community café.


Applicants would need to complete a range of duties including washing of walls, windows, partitions and woodwork and all hard and soft floor surfaces.

It would also include the cleaning of all surfaces, fixtures and fittings, bathrooms - all by appropriate methods within the designated area of work.

The role includes undertaking some laundry duties.

This role also includes supporting with the Community Café catering facility. Ensuring that catering requirements are met e.g. children's meals and meeting refreshments.

Health and Safety and COSHH knowledge is desirable for this role.


We are looking for a positive, reliable and flexible person with good communication skills, who can work as a member of a team and also independently to complete tasks.
